We Encourage Polygamous Careers
I truly believe the Socialike teams love their jobs, the people and clients we work with, and the work-life balance we provide our team. Knowing this, I still encourage the team to have a side hustle.
When Socialike first started out, the thought of someone working another job would have left me very insecure.
But now, I know what we provide our team, and I understand what it means to be creative.
Polygamous careers have got a bad rap lately. I don’t want the team to have multiple full-time jobs, but I do want them to have side hustles that further their creative expression.
- Yes, please go DJ at night.
- We want your personal Instagram account to have influence so another brand pays you.
- You love Pilates; we will give you time in your day to fill in to coach that Pilates class.
Those are a few examples, but the premise is twofold:
- Happy, fulfilled employees do better work.
- Having another creative outlet helps expand your horizon and ultimately will play a part in helping you think creatively.
I am about to embark on a new side hustle —> In early October, I will make my first foray into the coffee industry. I have rented a Coffee Cart and will be serving coffee to all the soccer moms and dads at my local field.
This is going to help me:
- Create better content – I will actually be the one shooting and editing the videos.
- I really want to work with a coffee brand, and this will help me better understand the consumer.
